CONFERENCE EXCURSIONS

Conference Excursion 1

Let's Go to Pinglin. Take a Deep Breath at a Tea Farm!

Pinglin, a mountainous region upstream of the Feitsui Reservoir, provides an ideal environment to cultivate Pouchong Tea.

Hosted by a local young farmer, we will visit an eco-friendly tea plantation and tea manufacturer to learn how to select the best-tasting tea leaves and how to process them. Many tourists are amazed by the natural environment of the tea farm and the techniques behind a cup of tea. You will sample different kinds of Taiwan tea and listen to the farmer's story about passing down the traditional tea culture. Besides the natural scenes, we will walk through the Pinglin ‘old street’, which contains a hundred years of history. You will find a new perspective on tea-making after understanding the locals' stories and experiencing traditional hand-made activities.
